so many festivals

cute.
This is her new favorite toy. It squeaks, rattles, crinkles, has a mirror and tags. Flash is very interested in it too but has left it alone so far.

These blocks have also been a big hit.

We went to a sand festival this weekend.

 Baby photo bomb.

This is the end product of a "quick sand" competition. Two professional sculptors had ten minutes to make a chicken laying an egg. Now, maybe I had unrealistic expectations...but come on this doesn't look like a chicken at all. Perhaps if you've never seen a chicken. But for a professional sculptor to make this?!?! boo. I could do that.

On our way back from the sand festival we stopped at the Shark Museum. I guess we didn't really read the sign right. It does say Souvenir City and Shark Museum so that should've been the first clue that this wasn't going to be a great museum. But it has a great front entrance and that alone made stopping worthwhile. However, my final opinion on the museum is that they must've blown their entire budget on the front door. I wouldn't recommend this place. Unless you're in the market for some junky souvenirs. Then it is perfect.

We had one more festival to go to before the day was over. We stopped at the Pensacola Seafood festival and looked at all the arts and craft booths and all of the food stands. It was crazy busy. Tons of food stands too, but with some poor planning we ate lunch before going to the festival so we were not hungry. Next time we go to a food festival we'll get it right.

bumbo butt

Pheebs in her new bumbo chair.
It has a tray that is pretty handy for her toys.

babypalooza 2012

We had more visitors last weekend! Jesse, Marla and baby Annika came down to visit. They got in late Friday night so this is the girls first meeting on Saturday morning.

Baby steamroller!

Saturday we took turns on baby duty and rented a kayak and paddle board.

Sunday we went to Destin and met up with Marla's sister Polly and their baby Olivia.

On Monday we went on the wheel of excellence

This is my favorite picture of the two babies.

5 months old

Phoebe is 5 months old.

Phoebe has a great sense of humor. She thinks strolling with Flash is the best thing on the earth and laughs so hard as he walks next to her. She really cracked up when we accidentally bumped him and he jumped a little.  The poor dog is going to have a complex but he is a pretty good sport about it all.

Brent is done flying the T-6 and moving on to the next segment of his training with the T-1.

you sank my battleship

What a busy week. My good friend Kelsey has been in town and we have had some fun adventures.
We went to a Blue Angels practice show.

We went to tour the USS Alabama
 Baby's first battleship

Phoebe and me with a SR 71. This plane can fly faster and higher than any other plane.
Baby's first submarine. You'll have to excuse the schweat. It wasn't incredibly well air conditioned.
Baby's first stroller ride. It was designed by aircraft engineers but takes a rocket scientist to adjust the straps. Hopefully we get better at that.
Kelsey and Phoebe having a good time.

We've gone to the alligators, on the ferris wheel, to the beach, rented a kayak and paddle board, got our nails done, visited more museums than you can shake a stick at and ate our fair share of ice cream. The best part was that Kelsey brought a cold front with her so the weather has been tolerable.
